Hello, nice to meet you all

Hello, I'm a new member. Please call me kao-chan.
I like to watch English TV drama and movies to have fun as well as raising my listening ability.
Also, I hope listening and using foreign language will be good for my brain, preventing brain disease.

「National Geographic
I'd like to read National Geographic both in English and Japanese. I'm interested in articles about birds, animals, or anything informative ones.

Thank you for your response, Kyoukoma-san and Emma-san.

So, I’m going to make a new topic for reading Natio-Geo before I forget^^

Yeah! I thought so, Emma-san.
Most people's schedues are tight, so it's good to read the same articles,
and discuss them here.

The articles you pasted seem interesting.
So I'll try to read both of them and write reports. (someday ^^;)

I thought you wanted to have offline meetings.
I think Kyoukoma-san thought so too.
Will you invite members of this community to the online meeting of reading Natio-Geo.
And let's see what happens next.

I don't subscribe to the Japanese edition of Natio-Geo, but I know some libraris have them, and we can borrow them except the latest number.

Or, I checked web site and found articles both in Japanese and English like below.

----------------

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/08/130821-birds-road-speed-limit-traffic-evolution-animals/

http://www.nationalgeographic.co.jp/news/news_article_enlarge.php?file_id=20130822001

----------------

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2013/08/130821-whale-shark-satellite-tracking-migration-gulf-mexico-science/

http://www.nationalgeographic.co.jp/news/news_article.php?file_id=20130823002

----------------
I'm willing to make Natio-Geo thread here if someone gets interested.
But I can't join offline meeting.
I'm sorry if I have made you misunderstood about that.
But if you and members have offline Natio-Geo study meeting, it would be nice if I could read some reports after meeting.

Thank you!

Thanks for your comment!
I used to watch drama via Hulu but I switched to a DVD rental service.
When I watch English TV dramas, I listen(try to listen) them in English voice with English subtitle, or in Japanese voice with English subtitle.
But when the story is becoming interestiing, I watch it in Japanese dubbed version without seeing English subtitle ^^;

Kao-chan,
Sure, I am willing to help you.
Do you happen to subscribe to the Japanese edition of Natio-Geo?

Hi, Kao-chan.
Nice to meet you. Welcome to Gutch English Club.
To improve listening comprehension is a very hard target.

Anyway, I subscribe to National Geographic, English version.
BTW, are you ready to become a manager of the Natio-Geo reading activities?
